Sadness and Joy

Posted

Today was a truly sad day. I received my Catholic New York and saw the obituary for Father Kazmierz Kowalski. We first crossed paths at Blessed Sacrament in New Rochelle and later at St. Agnes and Our Lady of Good Counsel, both in Manhattan, my wife’s christening parish and school.

He was a true defender of the faith and soldier for Christ, rightfully standing at the pulpit at St. Agnes that Archbishop Fulton Sheen ascended many years ago. “Catholic, not apologies” describes him. Through the sadness, it is a joy that he’s made his trip home. Eternal rest, Father Kaz.
