Scouting’s Highest Rank

Posted

To set things straight, the article about Boy Scout Anthony Decina (CNY, Oct. 8) contained an error. The Eagle Award is not a merit badge. Requiring significant effort, it is the highest rank a scout can attain. Among other things, 21 merit badges and a project demonstrating leadership are required to attain the rank. Of around 100 merit badges available, some, like first aid, are required. The rest are the scout’s choice.
