Thank you for always taking the time and space to recognize the religious jubilarians every year (CNY, Nov. 4). When you read the amount of time and service that these people have dedicated to their vocation, it's simply overwhelming.
Most of that time was dedicated to teaching the children of the archdiocese and rooting so many of us in our faith. For me, I was blessed with the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill at St. Brendan's in the Bronx.
Jubilee means “a season of celebration.” May God bless all the jubilarians as they celebrate their milestones. Special recognition to Sister Margaret Patricia McDermott, O.P. (70 years!), and Brother P. Michael Hannon, C.F.C. (40 years), who went out of his way to help me many years ago. I've never forgotten him for that.
