Sister Carolyn Wolfbauer, O.P.

Sister Carolyn Wolfbauer, O.P., who taught at Cathedral High School in Manhattan for 10 years, died Jan. 16 at Siena Hall at Dominican Convent, Sparkill. She was 84.

Sister Carolyn was at Cathedral, 1969-1979. She taught at St. John Chrysostom School, the Bronx, 1959-1960; and St. Agnes Home and School, Sparkill, 1958-1959; and was a clerical assistant at St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, 1957-1958. She also served in Fulton and Missouri.

She was elected to serve on the leadership team of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, 2004-2016.

Born in St. Louis, she entered the Sparkill Dominicans in 1955 and professed final vows in 1962. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, and a master’s in biology from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan.

All services were private due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Burial was Jan. 21 in St. Agnes Cemetery, Sparkill.
