Sister Catherine Marie Walsh, S.C., who served at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie for 20 years, died Feb. 4 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. She was 84.

Sister Catherine was at St. Joseph’s Seminary as public services manager, 2002-2003, and assistant to the librarian, 1983-2002. She served in the archdiocese at Mary the Queen Convent, Yonkers, 1980-1983; Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility, Manhattan, 1979-1980; St. Peter, Haverstraw, 1972-1979 and 1958-1960; and St. Athanasius, the Bronx, 1967-1972.

She also served in the Diocese of Brooklyn.

Born in Manhattan, she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1955 and professed final vows in 1963.

The graduate of Cathedral High School in Manhattan earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Mount St. Vincent, the Bronx, and a master’s in elementary education from Fordham University, the Bronx.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 11 at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, the Bronx. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers.
