Sister Constance Marie Pospisil, M.M.

Sister Constance Marie Pospisil, M.M., who served as a nurse and did other mission work in Latin America, died May 20 in Guatemala. She was 84.

Sister Constance Marie joined the Maryknoll Sisters contemplative community in 2004 and was assigned to the small mountain village of Lemoa, El Quiche, Guatemala. The remainder of her life was dedicated to prayer and Eucharistic adoration.

In earlier decades, her assignments included mission work and serving as a nurse in Chile, Brazil and Guatemala.

At Maryknoll in Ossining she served in the development and computer services departments, and did promotion and mission education work.

Born in Manhattan, she entered the Maryknoll Sisters in 1957 and made final vows in 1966. She held an R.N. from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing, Manhattan.

A Funeral Mass was offered May 21 at the Sisters Chapel in Lemoa de Santa Cruz, El Quiche, Guatemala. Burial was at Lemoa Cemetery.
