Sister Marie Burns, D.C., who served at Kennedy Child Study Center in Manhattan for six years, died July 29 at St. Louise House in Albany. She was 88.

Sister Marie served as executive director of the Kennedy Child Study Center, 1981-1986, and was local community superior, 1984-1986. She also served at Kennedy, 1965-1966. She was at Astor Home for Children, Rhinebeck, 1986-1992, when she served as local community superior.

Born in Trenton, N.J., she entered the Daughters of Charity in 1960. Her brother, Joseph, survives her. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 6 in DePaul Chapel at St. Louise House. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
