Sister Marie Joseph Morahan, O.P., who served in the library at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill for 22 years, died Dec. 19. She was 93.

Sister Marie Joseph was at St. Thomas Aquinas, 1964-1986. She was a volunteer librarian at Albertus Magnus High School, Bardonia, 1999-2013, where she also served as a librarian and teacher, 1989-1999 and 1960-1964, and was a volunteer librarian at St. Paul, Valley Cottage, 1999-2009.

She served at Salesian High School, New Rochelle, 1987-1989; Suffern Public Library, Suffern, 1986-1987; Cathedral High School Annex, Manhattan, 1958-1960; and St. Rita’s School, the Bronx, 1947-1949. She also served in Queens, Brooklyn and St. Louis.

Born in New York City, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1945 and professed final vows in 1952.

She received a bachelor’s degree in English from Manhattan College, the Bronx, and a master’s in library science from St. John’s University, Queens.

A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 23 in Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Sparkill. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery, Sparkill.
