Brother Anthony P. Bechner, C.F.C., who served on the faculty of All Hallows High School in the Bronx for 24 years, died Jan. 1. He was 73.
Brother Bechner was at All Hallows, 1991-2015, and resided in the Iona Prep community, New Rochelle, 2016-2021. He also served at Power Memorial Academy, Manhattan, 1970-1975, and in Rochester and Massachusetts.
Born in New York City, he entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1966 and professed final vows in 1974.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Iona College, New Rochelle; and master’s degrees from Manhattan College, the Bronx, and St. John’s University, Queens.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 10 in Holy Family Church, New Rochelle. Burial was in the Christian Brothers Cemetery, West Park.
