Youthful Wisdom

Posted

The article by Nicole Muranelli (CNY, June 3), “What I Learned This Year to Help Me Spread the Good News,” filled my heart with joy. What a breath of fresh air to hear an adolescent today with so much wisdom. I would like to pass on some wisdom myself. Keep up the good work and you are sure to succeed.

As a past catechist, I could only dream of having a student with her attitude and motivation. Our question is: How is our relationship with God, and what are we doing to improve it and ourselves? Nicole’s wonderful faith is a gift from God. For Scripture says, “Faith is the evidence of things not seen, the substance of things hoped for” (Hebrews). In junior high, I received a good citizenship medal. Inscribed on the back were the words, “Our inspiration is from the past, our duty is in the present, and our hope is in the future.” How we act now is most important and most difficult. Keep persevering, Nicole, for your reward in heaven will be great. God bless you.
