New Yorkers turned out to bid farewell to Det. Jason Rivera at a poignant Funeral Mass Jan. 28 celebrated by Cardinal Dolan at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Det. Rivera was killed one week ago responding to a domestic disturbance in Manhattan. A second officer, Wilbert Mora, also shot while responding, died several days later. Uniformed officers from New York and other states formed a solemn blue line stretching for blocks in the snowy cold on Fifth Avenue.
