A business lab at John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School in Somers will open in the fall, the school has announced.
Three analytical computers loaded with software called KoyFin will be featured in the new lab that will continue a partnership between Kennedy Catholic Prep and Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.
Kennedy Catholic Prep and Pace University have partnered for three years with current college-credit course offerings to high school juniors and seniors for Business 101, Business Management 150, Business Law 150 and Compliance 101.
More than 200 Kennedy Catholic Prep students have completed Business 101 over the past three years at $450 per three-credit course, a far lower course rate than if taken at the university.
“Kennedy Catholic students enjoy a vast array of opportunities to earn college credits not only through Pace and the Lubin Business School, but through St. John's University, SUNY Albany and Iona College,” said Father Mark Vaillancourt, Kennedy Catholic’s president and principal.
“We are very excited for this next step in advancing our business program and thank Pace for their continued partnership and support."
Pace business professor, Dr. Patrick McGuigan, added, “The Lubin School of Business has partnered with Kennedy Catholic High School to offer motivated and qualified students the opportunity to complete college courses on the Kennedy campus. Kennedy is vested in building a business culture on campus through the new business clubs and innovative curricula. Kennedy has been very proactive building infrastructure to support the program. The goal of the program is to help students develop into the best version of themselves!”
