Father Tomasz Grzegorzewski, S.D.B.

Father Tomasz Grzegorzewski, S.D.B., who served as parochial vicar of St. John Bosco parish in Port Chester, died Oct. 13. He was 64.

Father Grzegorzewski, who was on loan from the Salesian province of Krakow, Poland, had been part of the Salesian community in Port Chester since 2017.

He also served in Poland, Kenya, Uganda, Namibia, South Africa, Ireland and New Zealand.
Born in Kielce, Poland, he entered the Salesians’ pre-novitiate at Kopiec, Poland, in 1977 and professed first vows in 1978 as a member of the Krakow Province. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Salesians in 1985 by Auxiliary Bishop Albin Malysiak of Krakow.

He earned a master’s degree in theology from Catholic University of Lublin, Poland.
He is survived by two sisters.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 19 at St. John Bosco, Port Chester. His body was later cremated and his ashes are being brought to Poland to be interred in the cemetery of the Salesian Krakow Province.
